iHTML Merchant 2.0 Software Announced
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - September 23, 1998 -- Inline Internet Systems, Inc. announces the iHTML Merchant 2.0 for enabling businesses and web developers to implement powerful online stores. Version 2.0 builds on the success of the iHTML Merchant v 1.0, in use by over 1000 stores around the world.
"We believe our product has been successful for a number of reasons", says Russ Cobbe, President of Inline Internet Systems, Inc. He continues, "The product is priced in a range affordable for any store and the new version has all the features online merchants need. This allows a small business to get a store online while providing features for the large Enterprise."
The iHTML Merchant is built with the powerful iHTML web programming language. All source code to the store software is provided for maximum customization. However, for the novice user the complete store can be managed and modified via a web browser. iHTML and the iHTML Merchant run on Windows 95/98/NT, Linux, BSD, FreeBSD and Solaris platforms with O'Reilly, Netscape, Apache and Microsoft web servers.
Cobbe adds, "Most comparable packages costs thousands of dollars for the base software and then a per store charge, the iHTML Merchant is sold on a per server basis. This license allows unlimited stores per server at far less than the cost of a single store using competitive products."
ISP's can use the iHTML Merchant to provide stores to their clients, Web Developers can use the software as a base to build custom stores and businesses can use the software to get an online store setup with minimum hassle with the advantages of a home grown solution. Inline is currently pursuing bundling arrangements with a variety of firms.
Some of the new version 2.0 features include, full banner ad management and tracking, multiple sales reports, customer management, new site management tools, handling of product variations, multiple templates, new shipping calculations, Electronic Software Distribution support, improved searching, and a faster ordering process. The iHTML Merchant v2.0 supports CyberCash, IC Verify, PC Authorize, Authorize Net, Internet Secure, Redi-Check and 4 other transaction payment systems. The iHTML Merchant also includes, shipping, tax, shopping basket, product catalog and searching capabilities. All store administration is done through a browser, no plug-ins are required.
The iHTML Merchant 2.0 will be available on October 7th, 1998. Upgrades from 1.0 of the software are $149US. Version 2.0 is $745US, which includes iHTML Pro 2.x (separately at $595US), per web server. Unlimited stores are supported on a per server basis.
